This is the definitive list of the best polyamorous podcasts for 2021! Whether you are interested in knowing more about polyamory, a seasoned polyamorous lover, or just interested in expanding you listening, this is for you.

Polyamory: is the practice of, or desire for, intimate relationships with more than one partner, with the informed consent of all partners involved

It feels like polyamory is suddenly everywhere! The BBC introduced Trigonometry in March 2020, featuring an existing couple opening their relationship to a ‘third’. In 2018, Louis Theroux travelled Oregon, Portland to talk with people engaged in polyamorous relationships for the documentary Love Without Limits. Also in 2018, a web series called “195 Lewis,” received the Breakthrough Series — Short Form award from the Gotham Awards. The series featured a black lesbian couple dealing with their relationship being newly polyamorous. In 2016, South Africa’s favorite soap opera Generations the Legacy, explored the topic of polyamory with one if its main characters. In 2012 and 2013 Showtime ran a reality television series called Polyamory: Married & Dating which followed polyamorous families as they navigated the challenges presented by polyamory. Even the Simpsons have been in on the action, with speculation of Lisa Simpson’s polyamorous future depicted in a Season 23 episode and confirmed by showrunner Al Jean in a 2019 IN Magazine article.

You know what else was big in the last decade? Podcasts. According to the infinite dial, podcast familiarity more than doubled between 2010 and 2020. And use of podcasts is steadily increasing across all age groups year-on-year.

So as we enter 2021, its time to tune in to this sub-genre of podcasts with the ultimate list of polyamorous podcasts!

  1. Multiamory Pod

Run by three relationship coaches who all have experience in polyamorous dynamics, the Multiamory podcast focuses on the ‘how-to’ of non-monogamy.

The hosts, Jace, Dedeker and Emily offer new ideas and advice for multiple forms of love: everything from conscious monogamy to ethical polyamory and radical relationship anarchy. The podcast provides out-of-the-box and improved relationship advice, applicable to both monogamous and non-monogamous dynamics. With over 250 episodes in the backlog, one can almost guarantee that your relationship question has already been answered.

2. Loving Without Boundaries

Maybe one of the longest polyamorous podcasts, run by author Kitty Chambliss, Loving Without Boundaries is a podcast offering interviews, lessons and insights on the subjects of polyamory and ethical non-monogamy from Kitty and her guests. Her mission is to create more awareness and acceptance of these lifestyle choices through education, communication and the respectful exchange of ideas.

3. Poly Pages

In a refreshing and unique format the Poly Pages podcast takes a passion for reading to a whole new place. In the form of a book club, Claire and her guest hosts read their way through the texts that have shaped polyamorous community and culture. Spearheaded by academics, and featuring polyamorous hosts, the Poly Pages podcast offers up a critical lens on polyamory. The podcast is relatively new, but the niche approach earns Poly Pages a space on the list.

4. Normalizing Non-Monogamy

Also taking the interview format, Normalizing Non-Monogamy is hosted by couple Finn and Emma, and has a new episode up weekly. The format is the same every interview, but the guests are always different, offering up over 150 stories (and counting) of people from across the spectrums of race, gender, sexuality, and non-monogamy. With so many people already featured the backlog makes for interesting listening.

5. Amory Pod

Hosted by Megan, Marty and Kyle, based out of New Zealand, the Amory Pod offers deeply personal, raw discussion about practicing polyamory. In it’s unveiled nature, the Amory Pod feels almost like a vlog, or self-directed documentary of 3 people in love. The podcast is relatively new but makes the list with it’s brave and unscripted nature. Just hoping it does not succumb to pod-face!

6. Monogamish Pod

Another in the ‘how I’ format, the Monogamish Podcast is hosted by the out and proud Jhen and Sham, who discuss polyamory through the Black Caribbean lens. The podcast uses the hosts own experiences with polyamory and those of their guests, as well as pop culture news items, discuss any and everything related to non-monogamy. For those looking for a regular podcast, this is one which really does manage to get out an episode a week.

7. Poly Weekly

If you are looking for a podcast with a lot of existing episode, look no further. Even though the Poly Weekly Podcast has been on hiatus since March 2020, we have to include them in this list! One of the first ever polyamorous-focused podcasts, hosted by two regular kinksters who use the aliases — Cunning Minx and LustyGuy. Unlike other ‘how to’ podcasts, the Poly Weekly podcast rely on the fact that neither of the hosts are experts — they make mistakes just like everyone does when trying to navigate a new relationship structure. Poly Weekly offers a kink-friendly, sex-positive space for the curious listener.

8. Life on the Swingset

The Life on the Swingset Podcast deals with polyamory as an extension to swinging culture, and has over 380 episodes to date. This podcast is the father of the ‘how I’ format which so many of the newer podcasts adhere to (see Amory Pod and Monogamish Pod above). A listener can expect unabridged chatting about sex, shame, love, with repeat guests building out a personality for the show, and special guests brought it with specific topics.

Cooper S. Beckett started the Life on the Swingset podcast in 2010, but since then it has exploded into a brand of the same name plethroa of other podcasts about swinging, polyamory, kink etc inc Multiamory (above) and events, conferences and merch. This may be one of the biggest brands in the American Polyamory scene at the moment.

9. Probably Poly

For the curious intellectual listener, Probably Poly offers a warm, interesting and genuinely cutting edge approach to polyamory. Seeking to unravel the relationship ethics behind non-monogamy, the hosts Michael, Mandy and Sarah have a way of breaking down any topic into it’s constituent parts, and leaves the listener feeling smarter, stronger and more loved. The podcast tackles issues that anyone who is experimenting with polyamory need to be aware of, in a non-judgemental way. This is a must subscribe to anyone new to the scene.

10. Black N Kinky

Rounding off the list, and this podcast basically does what it says on the tin… a very X rated tin. Two black lesbian swingers — Bomber and Belle — talk about their lifestyle in a candid sexually-charged podcast. Why is it on the list? Because nothing else does it quite the way they do it.

The hosts want to share their knowledge with other black people curious about ethical non-monogamy and kink. Other lifestyle podcasts tend toward a very white-washed western portrayal of polyamory, so the candid, racially informed podcast has to make the list despite it’s relatively recent debut.
